Return to Work

Good morning everyone!

I am new here and have my surgery tentatively scheduled for November. Just wanted your opinions on returning to work. My doctor said it is normally 2-4 weeks at home. I work at a desk and really don't have to move much. My surgery would be on a Wed, do you think its feasible to stay home that week and the next, then go back the following Monday? So approximately 10 days home. I don't have a lot of paid sick time and hoping this will work for me, but want to see what your experience tells me.

Thanks so much, appreciate any feedback!

I did the same thing as @TheRev. I took two weeks off and ended up going back after one cause I was bored out of my mind. You won't know until you know. I would take 2 off if you can and see how you feel. If not, I feel like one week would be plenty for a desk job. I know everyone is different though.

I had my surg on a Monday and went back to work the following Monday. I have a desk job also, so it was no problem for me. I felt great and wasn't that hungry. I didn't have a lot of sick time either and I didn't tell anyone that I was having the surg!
