I am half way through my required weight loss classes and leaning towards the sleeve. My question is will I be able to return to a physically demanding job post surgery, after my initial recovery period? I need to be able to climb, hike for long distances, push, pull and lift heavy objects. Am I being realistic, is this possible?

@@buckeyegirl76 I was allowed to only lift no more than 10lbs for the first three weeks and gradually back to a more normal lifting requirement for work. I climb stairs, lift a lot, walk a lot and I had to be careful because my brain didn't remember I had surgery until my body said "whoa". I picked up something that weighed close to 50lbs about 2 to 3 weeks post. Felt a definite twinge. No issues thank goodness but still......

Yes, but you'll likely need a much longer recovery period before returning to work than someone who works a desk job. If you had my surgeon, he would require you to be out of work a minimum of 6-8 weeks.
