Can't stop "sliming "

I am 4 and a half weeks out post opt. For the past 2 weeks I can't keep anything down and I keep spitting mucus like...it's really bad...I can't even leave my house...nausea meds are not helping...has anyone else been through this and for the love of God how did you overcome it???

The only time I slime is when I eat faster or more than my sleeve will tolerate.

Those first couple months really required me to go at a very, very slow pace during "meals" which for me at 3-4 weeks were still shakes and at 4+ weeks were softer meats.....like flakey fish.

Even today....If I exceed the pace and/or volume then I'll get the slimy reaction.

What is allowed on your plan in week 4? Week 4 was still puree for me I think.. and I didn't have any sliming until I started eating "real" food..like Dub said in his reply-- with me I've only "slimed" if it's been something that I ate too quickly or too much of.. or something that just wasn't a good choice.. like when I was out to dinner with my hubby, and thought a buttery garlic parmesan chicken wing would be fine lol. It was not fine. And I'm ok never seeing or smelling another buttery garlic parmesan chicken wing for the rest of my life!

Could you be gulping or drinking them too fast maybe? I might call the nutritionist and see if he/she has any advice..or your bariatric team. I wish I could be of more help with this! Goodluck!

I would put a call in - and practice some deep breaths. by that point I was cleared to all foods but you could have an irritated stomach or something and the doctors should be able to identify what's going on and help you.

I only had the slimey's once, and I was trying to force myself to eat a normal post sleeve meal right before I went back to work after my bereavement leave was ending (4+ months of no problems before) - there was no doubt in my mind what the slimeys were. YUK. haven't had them since thankfully, but I was under an enormous amount of stress at the time and should have just gone for continuing to eat less for awhile. which is where I am now - still not back to normal but I just eat 4 very small meals with 2 Snacks instead of 3 normal post WLS meals with 2 snacks. so at the end of the day my protein/calories are in the right place
