I broke my left elbow after taking a bike ride yesterday after work. It didn't have to be set but I'm wondering how this will affect surgery. My surgery date is 7/11 and I'm wearing a sling now, and, I'm guessing, might still be still laid up with it. My doctor is out of the country right now and I won't be able to speak to him until the 7/1. I'm also waiting to hear back from the program coodinator. Has anyone else been in a similar situation? And what happened?

I doubt it will be a problem. Only issue might be if you are taking any NSAID's for it which you will have to stop before surgery (likely 2 weeks prior). I had a stress fracture in my heel and was in a walking boot during my surgery. I just put that boot back on and walked around the hospital floor like I was supposed to. You might just be sure to mention it at the hospital when you do pre-op so they are cautious how they grab you to lift and move you from bed to bed.
