My surgeon sent the documentation this past Friday. I called my insurance company (Highmark BCBS) today and they said it shows in the system as "pending." I am so anxious to get an answer. How did you all deal with this waiting period? I am tempted to call twice a day, once at noon and again at 5pm...

@@kjhen - you know they have it at least, because it is pending.

Try to call only once a day and if you can get a name write it down and the time - you may actually be able to get them to contact you and let you know

@@jane13, thanks for the advice. I am going to try to wait until Thursday/Friday to call. I mean at this point it is just a waiting game and there is no point getting too stressed out...

@@kjhen - I wouldn't personally call everyday. Maybe every third or fourth, like you mentioned above. keep me posted!

@@jane13, my nerves got the best of me and I called daily and found out this morning the procedure was approved so now I am waiting for my surgeons office to review my chart and schedule a date
