What should I Buy?

I'm being banded Friday, my 2 week post op diet according to my surgeon is "anything you can get thru a straw" First I thought, okay, but now I'm thinking what the heck is that? I would like to get prepared so I'm all set after surgery. Can anyone give me some ideas? Of coarse there is soups, protein drinks, and broth, but what else should I stock up on? Thanks!

Hi there,

Here is my list of things I stocked up on prior to surgery:

  • Sugar-free/fat free pre-made pudding cups
  • Non-fat dry milk (to add to the pudding/milk for extra protein)
  • LOTS of Organic skim milk (smile)
  • Sugar-free applesauce
  • Canned tomato and chicken noodle Soup
  • EAS/AdvantEDGE Carb Control shakes - these are YUMMY and have the lowest calorie/highest Protein of any pre-made shake
  • Carnation Instant Breakfast ready-to-drink shakes
  • Crystal light drink mix
  • Tropicana sugar free lemonade and orange drink in 2-liter bottles
  • Nestle Quick Sugar Free chocolate mix for milk

I wish you the best of luck to you! You will do GREAT!

-Shannon
