2nd fill...what a painful experience...ouch!

I went for my 2nd fill today...I currently have 2.25 cc in my band.

My concern is about the fill I reveived today, when the dr. stuck the neddle into the port, I just about jumped out of my skin from the pain...is this normal? Then when he removed the needle from port, I bleed for about 3-5 minutes...again is this normal? The dr. told me the muscle around the port is irritated, and that's why it caused so much pain. Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks!

Fran

Yes,

MY first fill. The doctor did it and it hurt like heck!! I was afraid to have another one. The nurse usually gives them and she is 100 times better.

My advise is to ask is the nurses do fills there.

My nurse actually asked me how my first fill went and I told her "not good". She said I was the third patient that day complaining about that.

Sorry you went through that.
