5 days post op PAIN

The pain is crazy. The incisions areas all hurt.My insides hurts.I went to a supermarket in my neighborhood that is never crowded so that I could walk.BAD IDEA....in one of the aisles I was bent over in pain....thank goodness my father drove me to and from....I am no longer gonna try to be a super woman! I can't even wear a bra ...every incision hurts. My stomach is so puffy and sore and discolored.I am currently lounging in my adjustable temperpedic bed watching SVU reruns.I am in a lot of pain to say the least.

Look at my stomach!!!!!!! Revision surgery all in one is tougher than any other procedure.

  • You aren't on protein shakes yet? Wow. No wonder you don't have any energy. I was having protein shakes immediately post op. The left side will be the more painful side. Mine was.

But worth it.I am 3 weeks post op...each day I am less sore.I can now move to soft/purée foods...hopefully I will get more energy to be able to work out...pacing myself...slowly.I think in 6 weeks I will feel like myself again.

Only better and less heavy!

  • 3 weeks later...

I'm 5 days Post-op and had very minimal pain. I told my doc before I went under the knife that I have a low pain tolerance so she said I'll wake up with a PCA pump of hydromorphone, and it helped a lot. Everyone deals which pain differently. I'm glad you're having success with the weightloss. I'm not going to weigh myself yet because I know I'm still swollen and retaining water from surgery.

How soon do you put the silicone sheets on to reduce the scarring?

I am 5 days post op revision VBG to bypass. I am really sore on my left side and have zero energy to walk but I am going back to work tomorrow! I'm ready to add protein drinks next week! My dr is telling me after three weeks of liquids then I have four weeks of soups before soft foods! Ugh this is my post op pic post-285096-14554802265703_thumb.jpg

Part of the liquid diet should be some form of liquid Protein. You'll be surprised how much more energy you have once you are intaking adequate protein.

Hope you're doing better!
