Anti-Blood Clot Filter

I am scheduled to have my Lap-Band surgery 08/29/07, however I have to have a blood filter installed on 08/20/07. To be honest the filter installation scares me more than the actual surgery. I am freaked out about someone messing around with my arteries!

Do I really have anything to be worried about?
