((((((Beach Girl)))))) try to calm yourself and BREATHE! PRAY!

put in the forefront of your mind the OUTCOME! and remember we cantalk ourselves in to or out of almost anything give yourself pep talks. it's not a painful procedure or risky as RNY, so try to calm yourself down as much as possible.

Good Luck September 11th Bandsters: Loveto Live, want2bmeagain, Andrea71, nanann, shawn, bellesmommy, tazz, NM Sunshine, tinker3433, RHCPgirl, cindyn, sherilee310 and beach girl.

Next week at this time I will be in the same spot as you are tonight. I am trying not to let my nerves get the best of me.:nervous

Keep us posted on your day to day progress when you feel up to it.:clap2:

:gluck:

I will be thinking of you all tomorrow as you begin your new lives! In 2 weeks I will be in the same position. I am nervous and thrilled at the same time. Congrats to all of you and please let us know how you are doing!

MistyD - I just saw that you are a DR Carter patient too! Do you like him? I will be banded on 9/19 - so just a few days before you. I would have had it sooner, but he went on vacation! I was approved last month!

Gean - I see you at the bottom of the thread reading everything - how are you doing? Any date yet? Any news? Keep us posted! I am thinking about ya!

Surgery's in 2 hours and 48 minutes! Ran down to the hotel computer to visit for a quick minute!

thank you for all the well wishes! I means sooooo much! You are all incredible people!!!!

I will check back as soon as I can!

:whoo:

Wow - want2bmeagain - you are already done with your surgery! I hope it all went well! I look forward to hearing from you again soon!!! Wow - you had the time down to the minutes! I would be sooo nervous, wouldn't know what to do!!!

Poohlrv - I met Dr. Carter at his informational seminar. I didn't get to speak with him much individually but he was very nice. Other bandsters have said, and I agree, that he isn't one to make a lot of small talk. He's there to be your surgeon and not your therapist! He was very good about answering all of everyones questions, he was very patient and willing to help us understand everything.

I go in for my pre-op on the 18th and then back on the 25th for my surgery! My insurance approval went VERY quickly, quicker than I was ready for! I could have had my surgery today but wasn't ready yet, I needed a little more time to get my mind in the right place!

Be sure to let me, and everyone else, how it goes!! GOOD LUCK!! :bounce:

Wanttobemeagain - Hope you are recovering nicely! Let us know how you are doing as soon as you feel up to it!

MistyDTX - I have found that he was very nice. He did two other people that I know and they both love him. He also did my sister in laws gallbladder and sat down to talk to her and I before the surgery and then when it was all done as well. He was very helpful!!! Good Luck - I had my pre-op testing done today and have my pre-op consult with him on Thursday! Keep us informed with what is going on, we will have to compare notes! Good luck!

Good luck September 12, bandsters! Sorry this is late getting on here again! I am thinking about you all!

Good luck to: Mcnyrk, Lisa Hawaii and hays580!!!

Hey everyone! I am alive! I was so encouraged by your posts! Yep, had it down to the minute!:bounce:

Ok, I am doing pretty good...Dr Kirshenbaum is ABSOLUTELY incredible!!! Can't rave enough about him!

I am having more pain than expected, but it's me. Same thing happened when I had a simple (vaginal) hysterectomy. But, it isn't anything that kid's liquid motrin and percocet isn't helping:clap2:

Wow, can't believe I really did it!!! woo-hooooo

Hope all my bandsisters and brothers today are doing great, and those tomorrow sail on through!!

I'll check back soon

also, keep us up to date on how the rest of you new bandsters are doing!!

Time4me--my diet is SUPPOSED to be three protein shakes a day. That's it (well, I can also have chicken broth and sugar free popsicles but I stopped doing the chicken broth because of all the sodium). After gaining another pound yesterday I threw a tantrum and ate a salad with tuna (not tuna salad) and low fat low carb salad dressing. I'm getting really discouraged.
