Three days later

Had the surgery on the 26th. It went very well. The pain was and is what was expected and is very tolerable. Today, i am having very little pain. Thanks to all for the advice to get up and walk early and often. I have done quite a bit of walking and i think that has made the difference. Doing the clear liquids. My hunger so far is non existant. That having been said, i look forwrd to the puree stage. Would be nice the get a little substance.

I had my surgery on the 26th also, but unlike you, i have been starving since I first woke up! I thought this would take away my appetite for awhile but it really hasn't. I did read somewhere that stomach acid can make you feel like you're hungry so I'm going to try an antacid and see if that helps.

I switched from the prescribed pain meds to regular tylenol as soon as I got home, and that seems to be enough for me.

@@drmeow See if your doctor will prescribe you a PPI for the acid. I was on Protonix for the first two months.

My dr said that acid reflux can feel like hunger. He prescribed Prilosec.
