Pain & bloating after eating

I had lap-band surgery a year and a half ago. I found out I was pregnant so my doctor removed my fill about a month ago due to the pregnancy. A few weeks ago I started having complications after eating. About 30 minutes after eating anything, no matter how much, I start having pain around the spot where the band is and I have horrible bloating. I feel like my insides are going to explode. It is extremely uncomfortable and lasts for about 5 hours. Has anyone had this happen and does anyone know what could be causing this?? :help:Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

Hello i was too banded a year and half and now i have the worst pain after eating I hesitate to some time i'm really thinking about taking it out i didn't have this pain before so if u get some answer canu pls send some my way thanks so much

What they won't tell you is that you are more prone to ulcers. I had seven a year after being banded. I had never had any previously. I had pain and burning. Talk to your doc about a proton pump inhibitor such as prontonix which reduces the acid. Also you might want to try some digestive enzymes...they worked good for me.

I had this same problem while pregnant. How far along are you? At first it felt like pain and bloating in the earlier weeks. Eventually, it would get to where I had trouble breathing in the later months. I ended up having to see a pulmonologist because of this and he figured out that the extra contents of my abdomen were putting pressure on my Vagus nerve. The Vagus is the nerve at the top of your stomach that tells your brain that you are full - the principle behind the band... in other words your brain gets the signal you are full even with a very small amount of food. The trouble with this is that the Vagus nerve also has a part in telling your lungs to breath for you... so when you get pressure on it your brain gets the message that you are smothering, etc. I had to take Prevacid twice a day and he prescribed an Advair diskus to help open my lungs as well. Hope this helps.

Did anyone answer you on this, Im not pregnaunt, had surgery on 4/19 and hurt constantly on my right side where the port is, like you said especially after I eat. It has been like this for about three weeks, and I feel it too when I walk or stand up do you?
