You are only a day out from major surgery, it is very normal to feel weak and have a hard time swallowing and so on. Keep trying. Walk when you can and rest when you need to. Of course you will feel better, but it can take weeks to recover from surgery. Be gentle with yourself.

It took me about a week of feeling just awful (and depression setting in) before I felt like myself again. I now am back to work, and life is back to normal and I'm only a few weeks out. Just be patient. Hope you feel better soon.

Each day will get better. Just concentrate on water intake and a few sips of a protein shake (or more if you can). One step at a time.....you will feel better soon :-)

Hang in there! Day two is early days. Keep us posted as you start to feel better!

Give it time. You just had major abdominal surgery. Like others have posted keeping sipping your water, drink your protein and walk. Even if you only walk for five minutes moving will make you feel better.

I agree with everyone else. Give yourself some time. After surgery I was weak for over a week but slowly you will begin to feel better. I was sleeved 9/15/15 and every day gets better.

Post again at day 10 and tell us all how much better you feel!

I am doing much better. Thanks for the soup straining idea. I am 1 week tomorrow but I started Greek yogurt, creamed soup, and sugar free pudding today.
