Dr. Ren - NYU

I am in the process of getting approved by my insurance company for the surgery. Has anyone had Dr. Ren do their surgery? I like the idea of having a femal surgeon, what has anyone's experience with her been? She seems really great.

hi

she's one of the best in NY. i investigated her when i was initially thinking of getting the band when i lived in NY. i opted not to get it because i probably wasnt ready.

also she was one of the few drs. in the FDA trials...before the procedure was approved.

i know a few people that were very successful with her.

my doctor here in texas was also in the FDA trials. and he has a very HIGH regard for her.

you may want to put her name under the "search" tab above to get more info from people who used her.

in fact the guy who started this site had her as his dr years ago.

good luck

I've not seen many here mention her, but she was one of the authors of a paper on the placement (pars flaccida) technique that everyone uses. She's quite highly regarded.

Dr. Ren did Khaliah Ali's band and she seems to think the world of her. Her book about her banding experience is called "Fighting Weight".
