July 3, 200719 yr Hello. All, I am still new this. I am tentativly getting banded mid-October and am still researching things. What I want to know is, are there things you can do to reduce the chances of the band slipping or erosion or the port flipping? Or is it one of those inexplicable things?
July 3, 200719 yr From what I've heard/read etc. Band slippage can be caused by continually PBing (throwing up - getting food stuck). So its very important to learn the propper way to eat. I've also heard people having band slipping when they NEVER PB. I think a lot has to do with your doc, how competent he is and knowledgable, placing the band in the wrong place can cause slippage, and I think erosion, but not sure. I don't think they really know what causes errosion for sure. Port flipping is just one of those things. Good-luck with your band journey!
