I had it and got approved with no problems. No monthly visits to PCP's or anything. Just wondering anyone else's experience.

I was not on Medicare when I had my surgery, but I am this year. What I like is that if I need a medical service, I can just go without having to get a referral from my primary doctor first.

I have Medicare and had to go through the hoops! 6 month weight and cardio, psych dr.

My doctors office never submitted the paper work first ! So Medicare won't pay the doctor but covered the surgery.

I am on Medicare. I was told by my surgeons office that it has been changed to 3 months of hoops (NUT, support group, psych, pcp, etc..) to jump through, instead of 6. I am at the 60 day mark now. I have only seen the surgeon for the consultation and won't actually see him again until after the (hopeful) approval. This should eliminate any additional bills that won't be covered.

My BMI is 36, with several co-morbidites. I really hope this gets approved.
