Sore throat!

Hey guys,

Im 3 weeks post op! Just started my purée phase, and since then every night i have a sore throat i basically feel it within an hour after dinner.. Its so painful, i don't have any cold or tonsillitis or anything.. I think its food related, I've read it can be linked to acid reflux.. Im on Nexium since the surgery as i had severe reflux.. My band hasn't been filled yet! Im due for my first fill next week..

Do you have any advice to soothe this pain in my throat.. Is there anything i can drink that will make it feel better? Anyone experienced the same?

Im still new and looking forward to my new journey :)

Do throat lozenges, cough drops help?

generally after major surgery from the ET tube, one will have a sore throat and cough drops help...but that usually is within the first 24-48 hours.

Hey @@B-52 i had the throat pain from surgery and yes it was right after the surgery but then that went away.. And only when i started eating soft foods i got this sore throat pain.. And its only at night..

Keemi, I find that I get a sore throat -- usually at night -- and sometimes on one side only, when I have not taken in enough fluids for the day! Never noticed this before the band, but now after, I can tell I need more hydration by the way my throat feels. In all my years on this forum, I've not seen anyone else mention this -- but for me, keeping up on my water intake keeps the sore throat away. Go figure, but you might try upping your water intake. :-)
