Feet shrinking?

I am down 50 pounds. I want to buy new shoes, but I have been told my feet will shrink. Is this true or do I need to wait longer to buy new shoes?

There's another thread on this topic. Most people have said that their feet did shrink. Some just a size, others up to 2 sizes. Others said they went from needing wide shoes to being able to fit regular width shoes. I'm refraining from buying just about anything. I'm only 23 lbs down and I can already feel my feet slipping around in shoes.
