Need some help with information on switching doctors.

Back story-

I chose a surgeon that was 2 hours away from me. They said Insurence would be worked out, but it's been such a hassle for the last 2 years. I last saw him in May, to get saline taken out do to pregnancy (8 months preg) now that I've had baby and am 6 months PP baby, I'm ready to go to a new surgeon to get a fill again. But I want a new surgeon and one closer to me. What should I expect from visiting a new doctor? Do I need to get all my records? Will doctors need to talk? Help please!

Dr. Wes Powell is the best surgeon out there. He's in Pasadena. He's operated on nearly all of the hospital employees as well and he has a five star rating. My Surgery day was November 17,2016 and I went home the next day.
