2 days post-op...

...and I've gained 13 lbs since surgery! I guessing my kidneys haven't recovered yet. Anyone else gain that much? I know I'm not eating too much, because I'm still in hospital, lol!

I wish I'd weighed myself the first day or two to know for sure, but yes it was something like that. Don't worry, it'll pass!

I gained 11 pounds from iv fluids. Very normal, and it comes off fast.

I hope you're feeling better and healing quickly :) the weight is probably from the IV fluids

I would like to say first welcome to the losers bench, I agree with the above statement that it is probably fluid intake from the iv I too gained more weight then before surgery, your body will drop this water wait and you will see the pounds began to come off, please remember to walk, blow into that plastic thingy, and to drink your water keep us posted my friend.

I think most people gain from IV fluids. It goes away in the first week.

Im day 2 and up 8 lbs. Not worried cause they were pushing iv fluid like crazy.

Well, it did come off, just took a few days. I'm 10 days out from surgery, and I am down 8 lbs from pre-op weight. Doing very well, too! Didn't need to fill my pain script, and only took one of my nausea script. Only 4 days until I'm off of full liquids, and I CAN'T WAIT!
