I'm so sorry that it didn't work for her. I pray that the do-over will work for her. If she needs to talk she can contact me. ~Mandy

What about the duodenal (sp???) switch? There is a member here that did the conversion and she is doing really well. ~Mandy

What exactly didn't work? And what is going on that he thinks it wont work again?

If she's eating around her band (which we all do at some point or another, I'm sure), I don't think the bypass is a good answer anyway, because you can out eat that too, and it's not adjustable.

Was she too tight and having that soft food syndrome thing? If so, the unfill should help alot, because the solid protein will keep her full longer.

I'm a slow loser, I know that it's 2 things, number 1 I've always been a slow loser on any diet, and number 2, I struggle to be 'good'. When I'm not good I don't gain weight, which is all thanks to my band, and when I am good, I lose slowly, which is frustrating, but it's the right direction and that's how my band works for me. I think she just needs to figure out how her band works for her. ;)

She admits she did not try hard enough. Eating at 9 pm. Eating fried foods. Not walking. We asked for a do over. He said he had never emptied the band and started over but it is worth a try.He did not seem to positive. There will be no more surgeries.

ladysplenda I understand you are scared about your daughter undergoing bypass or anything like it.I would be scared too.maybe the doctor is trying to scare your daughter that there is no other choice and wants to push her to work harder.

truly said band itself doesnt do anything I dont know how old is your daughter but maybe she got the band too early not determined to lose weight. Let me tell you I have 10cc band WITHOUT any fill and I have lost 70pounds in 14 months. it didnt come alone I worked my ass off! and thats what your daughter should do.

Im not trying to be harsh its just reality. I hope that she is succesful!!! Good luck to you both!

He put a 4cc band on her. She started at around 260.The good thing about the band. You can have a do over. Will it work. We will see. Wish

her luck.

If your daughter knows what was holding her back (not eating right, and not exercising), she can fix it, and maybe get her "do over" with the band.

There is nothing in this world stopping her from changing her lifestyle now to include a good nutrient rich diet, and plenty of exercise. She can do it if she wants to.

Good luck to your daughter.
