SINGERS! Answer me this....

Hey,

I've got some strong stomach muscles, probably some of the strongest in my body from years and years of singing, performing voice lessons yadda yadda yadda....

How long was it before you felt like you could/sing perform with no problems with pain?

My surgery date got moved and its backed up close to a performance with a choral concert in which I'll have a sizeable solo - like a week or 2 out from surgery. Am I crazy or being unrealistic thinking I can sing?

What say you?

Hi Mimi!

I trained as an opera singer in college before I went into education- nice to meet someone else who's got that passion for singing! Honestly, once I was out of post-op pain and meds, I could sing the same as before. No more than a week or so, truthfully. I was more worried about the post-op sore throat, which I didn't end up having at all :)

oh good, that'a good to know @SuzeMuze. I was wondering the same thing. I'm also trained in opera and would have to not have the same ability after having surgery.

@@SuzeMuze,

So good to know. Gosh, I didn't even think about the sore throat. I've got shows about a week and a half after....glad you were fine!
