I has vsg on the 1st of October. Mine was in and out. I was home the same day. I wouldn't say it's painful, just mostly soreness. The gas pain was the most pain. But just remember to walk, walk, walk.

When I came out of surgery I had a pain pump, so no pain. They disconnected it the next day - still no pain. My abdominal area was a little sore for almost a week - sore like I'd done too many sit-ups
