THC in my system?

I'm having my lap band removed in a few weeks but I smoke occasionally and may still have THC in my system at the time of surgery... Does anyone know if I could be denied surgery if they detect any levels of THC in my blood/ urine tests? Thanks!

Why would they even be testing for thc? It's definitely not the norm to do drug testing. It's nobody's business if you use thc.

My insurance company or hospital required blood tests and urine samples. I dont smoke or use anything so it wasnt an issue for me. They were however constantly testing me for pregnancy in spite of my iud coupled with a partner with no sperm and me telling them. In the month of July I had 10 pregnancy tests and no sex!

I was honest with my surgeon, and he said I would have to quit, he also said he would test me, each dr and insurance company is different, I am afraid.

I'm curious about this as well. I haven't done anything in a long time but would like to. I will not be doing it post op, I'm cool with that. I'm still in the Band to revision to RNY stage. Haven't seen my surgeon yet, I have an appt on 12/15 for the consult. But I, too would like to know if they test you for THC pre-surgery.

My test was during the preop hospital stuff, during all the other labs week before surgery

Well that's ok. Haven't smoked in a very long time, just won't start back up. I won't risk losing the surgery, or the faith in me by my team. Just a thought. Thanks for writing back!

I'm sure you get put under for this procedure so I think you'd have to tell the anostisiologist if anything so they know how much to give you and such things like that

I smoke once in a while too. They say it not really good because you get the munchies. Then overeat. What people do on their own time should not matter unless it hurts ya. Anything in moderation is cool.
