Uh choice plus General Electric NC

Hi everyone, I am going to see my surgeon in two weeks to send off approval. I am nervous because I do not know if my insurance will approve the surgery. Does anyone have United Healthcare choice plus through general Electric if so what are the requirements ? Did you have to the six month diet? Thanks.

I have UHC choice plus but not they General Electric. My insurance does require the six months doctor monitored weight loss but that varies depending on your particular policy. You should be able to log onto your UHC and find the requirements and if not then you can call and ask a rep. Plus your dr office should be able to tell you. Good luck in your journey!!!

Thanks so much Jenn I've asked and the insurance a

Said they cannot state requirements. I have called several different reps and they have all said the same thing. I have two weeks until I talk the Dr so I guess I just wait. Thanks again. I appreciate your input.

Are you able to call your surgeons office and give them your insurance info. to verify before your appointment? I went through the same thing with not knowing if wls was covered before my first appointment as well. I gave the surgeons office my insurance info. about a week before and they called insurance directly to verify. UH will have to give an answer to the doctors office (:

My doctor did the same thing, I called to verify it was covered and then the insurance rep at the doctors office called to verify. The doctors office is used to working with the insurance companies so they may even have the coveted benefit on file already.
