Does anyone live in East Texas? I know a couple people who have had the sleeve, but aren't doing support groups.

I'm not in any of those towns you mentioned, but I am just west of Tyler. My surgery is Wednesday and I have the option through my surgeons office to attend support groups after surgery, but most are scheduled during the day and it's hard for me to take off work. They do have an evening group meeting once or twice a month that I do plan on attending periodically.

I'm excited for you! My surgery date was 7-31. Things are going well because whAt my doctor told me to do is exactly what I am doing. Are there support groups in Tyler? The closest and most convenient for me right now is Rockwall, but feel like I can find something closer. Take your time to heal, but move. I started out walking around the house and have gradually built up to walking 25 minutes per day sometimes for 5 minutes at a time. Have you found a protein shake you like? I've been drinking premier protein for 3 weeks now and still like it. Let me know if you have any questions about anything. Congratulations on your new life :)
