Confession time - soda

I'm doing all my pre-op homework and making healthy changes. Of all the changes: exercising regularly, no snacking, staying away from processed foods, etc., the one change that gives me pause is giving up my delicious Diet Pepsi. I confess that I don't want to stop drinking it.

So I ask...do any of you that are post op drink soda?

I was a diet soda addict. I'm embarrassed to tell you that I drank anywhere between 5 and 12 cans A DAY of diet soda. The mere thought of giving it up would make my heart race. I feared the caffein

One thing you should realize is that after surgery your tastes will change. You may not even like or crave soda post surgery so don't reach for it on day two. Your sleeve will hate you if you try it

  • I hope it tastes like beer after surgery. That'll make it easy to never drink it again.

Ok this page is called confession time??? Right! So why would u post on how stupid people r that drink soda occasionally when they r looking for " ! Bashing and making that person feel stupid is just a way for u to feel better about your self! If u have support or ideas then fine! But don't ramble on about "not being able to understand why people drink diet soda" no one asked for your comments on how bad soda is for u!!!! I think we know this and that why she was seeking " support" because after all it is a support page

This really a learning process, if we all knew everything and were such health freaks. We would not be on this support page. Whether you have had the surgery or your surgery date is coming up. You are still learning and trying to figure out how to make this change in your life. The reason so many diets don't work is because you are restricted from some of your favorite food. Like this surgery you are also restricted but now you are physically restricted if you, aside from throwing in the towel and regretting your choice to have tge surgery. Find alternate foods & beverages that you can have, and so be it; if it is diet soda, if your new tummy can handle it... go for it.

Make sure that you get the appropriate amounts of required fluids not including your soda in to that total, but make this life change tolerable.

were human some of us also need to learn our own lessons and sometimes it is the hard way, we are not throwing away a 40k surgery we are learning how to eat again, without punishing ourselves.
