How long should i expect to be off work?

Depends on what you do for work. Many people are back within two weeks. I work as a Firefighter and was told to take a month off. I need to find a hobby!

I work in a bank. I took two weeks but could've gone back in one. My surgeon considers this light duty. A more physical job w/lifting would need 4-6 weeks.

I have a desk job. The majority of the time I am sitting down. Mostly data entry, statistical reports, payroll.

Happy to see this! I have a desk job as well & ive been worried about that. I also have a hiatal hernia & i think hes taking my gallbladder out too. I wonder if that will add to recovery time.

I would say two weeks is average before going back to work.
