I would like to get a support system going since my surgery isn't local. I'm doing clear liquid & protein shake diet for two weeks prior to surgery. I'm 3 days in & it's a real struggle. I will. I have 6 days left until surgery- time seems to be going quickly. I am doing better w/ pre-op liquid diet but it has been much harder than I realized. I struggle mostly with the mental aspect because I have not been physically hungry. I am very excited about going to see Dr. Joya because I have heard really good things about him & his staff and the overall experience. Keep me posted on how you are doing & your experience as well.

What are some of the things you have used for your preop diet and what's been the most successful for you?

I'm originally from northwestern Indiana from a small town called- Morocco. I drive in & around Lafayette all the time. When do you start pre-op? I'm done 10lbs so far but I find it pretty hard.

We are starting to stress because we leave on Sunday & my husband still doesn't have his passport. I told him I'm going w/out him if it doesn't come in time but not sure I should- I don't travel much. Do u have someone going w/ you? I come home on June 29th.

Did you expedite your passport? I did that and it arrived exactly 2 weeks. Also: check the website for the status. I leave june 29, the day you come back. I'm in Louisiana and we have a town here name Lafayette too.

We did expedite them & I got mine 2 weeks ago. They did not like his original birth certificate because it was old & seal wasn't good enough so we had to get new one & overnight but they're taking time getting it processed. He's called them every day the past 3 & website says it's in final processing but if it doesn't complete tomorrow we won't get it.

I have never been to Lafayette, LA. Were you affected by the big hurricane a few years ago?

Yes, we were affected by hurricane Katrina. She kicked our butts. Lol! Hoping all goes well with the passport

I know where Morocco is! I don't have to have a passport because The medical center is a certain distance from the border. I didn't believe it but I looked it up on federal website and it's legit. They know what they're doing. I only have to be on a three day diet, liquid , and a small protein at night! I bought all kinds of protein drinks. I'm going alone. Now that you have your passports, you can travel the world!

Not many people have heard of Morocco, IN let alone know where it is- lol. It's pretty small but was fun place to grow up.

Wow- I did not know that about not having to get a passport but I'm going to Puerto Vallarta which is not very close to the border. Where is your surgery in Mexico?

My husband got his passport today so we are good to go!
