toler,, yes you made it,, walk as much as you can it will really help. the worse is over and now each day will be better, glad you are home and doing good.. let me know if you need anything

Congratulations toler! It's the start of a new life for you. Take care of yourself, rest, walk and drink lots of fluids and you will feel well soon. And in a couple months you will see your clothes start to hang on you - that's the best part. Well, that and just feeling healthier and more alive.

You did it! Don't let all the usual bumps in the road get you down. If you take everything one day at a time or even a week at a time you will be surprised at how quickly you get into your "new" routine and how much better you will feel. I'm already down four-five sizes and it's been just under four months. Even better, I haven't felt this good for years! I wish the same for you.

Right now, my legs still feel heavy. I know this will subside. Right now I'm ready for a nap LOL

I did manage to get my meds down this morning, and that is a good sign.

Catch everyone later.

I was up weight wise for almost a week and although I have lost weight all over my stomach still seems bloated, they said it could take up to two months for it all to go away.

Give it time

Toler....so pleased to hear from you! Glad you are home! Rest and use the pain medication to stay comfortable. Looking forward to hearing from you. Each day is another step to your goal! Stay strong!

Oh boy, I know it will get better. How in the world do you get 48 to 64 oz of Water in, especially these first few days.I can't drink when I'm asleep. I'm doing the best I can but my mouth is SO dry! I'm still kind of loopy and tired all the time.

At first they had me drinking Water out of the small plastic med cups, about an ounce or two at a time. They gave me a big supply of the cups so I could count how many I had used. Somehow small cups seemed a lot less intimidating than a large glass. I was tired and weak for a week. I just couldn't take in enough calories. Again I drank small amounts of Protein shakes all day, plus Jello.

Just keep at it and this early phase will pass soon.

Thank you Kate. I feel a bit better each day. Today I graduate to milk, thinned yogurt, creamed (and blended) soups.

My hubby is a little too gleeful about giving me the blood thinner shots each morning LOL

He's taking good care of me.

toler that's good that your hubby is so suportive , and helping you .. you sound like you are doing really well. I'm really happy and glad for you.. now watch the pounds just melt off.. not saying it will be easy but you are on your way.. to a new and healthier life.. just remember the walk and Water,, is the shot glass and timer working?

I just keep a 2oz glass of water in my hands all the time LOL When I empty it, it gets refilled.

Today I graduated to creamed soups, yogurt, pudding. Not drinking 30 before and 30 after, puts a bit of a crimp in the drinking though

Just wish I could figure out why, the more I drink, the dryer my mouth gets! It's crazy!

The bloat is finally going down. Noticed my ankles are not swollen any more.

One day at a time, eh?

if you are taking pain meds that will make your mouth dry try a popcicle that may help

I forgot about the pain meds giving you dry mouth. I've backed way off on them and yes, have noticed the mouth isn't as dry.

Something else I've noticed. I've not been taking the handful of vitamins, just my Rx meds and just started my bariatric vitamins...anyway, the swelling in my ankles has just about vanished. True, I'm up about every hour to hour 1/2 peeing, So that is getting rid of a lot of fluid from my system, which in turn means the ankles will shrink. It's nice to see my ankles again LOL.

I'm feeling a bit better this morning. Not dragging quite so much. Baby steps.

yes take it one day at a time.. sounds like you are doing well.. keep up the good work..I'm joining the same gym as you are going too next week . have to kick start my weight lose again.. the gym i was going to just wasn't working for me.. and desert has Water arobics.. so we will see..

the water intake will get easier for you ,right now your stomach is a little swollen, when the swelling goes down it will be easier.. just remember to sip not drink too fast or too much at one time.. i did the wrong thing at the beginning and never forgot again.. felt a lot of pain when i did... thought i was having a heart attack lol Im glad you are doing well

When I get ready to go back to the gym, I'll give you a holler.

Yes, I've had the experience of drinking too fast. Not a good idea at all.

I don't know if they will halp, but I took a couple GasX this morning. My middle still seems bloated. The GasX can't do any harm and it might help a bit.
