10 days post op...female problems

Okay ladies...I've been on birth control for 16 years. For the last 10 years it's been Mirena (IUD). With this birth control I don't have periods....until today. It's heavy and very dark. I'm a little freaked out. Would any of you be freaking out? Should I call my OBGYN? Should I just let it be?

Issue #2...haven't had a BM in 8 days. Took some benefiber today. How long should I wait to call the doc?

Sorry...on a more positive note I'm down 13 lbs from when I went in for surgery.

I would call your doctor(s) tomorrow.

The weekend is coming up and you will probably just worry.

Call your OBGYN and make sure everything is okay.

AND call your surgeons office and see what they want you to take for better "movement"

8 days is too long. Since you have access to doctors, use them!!

WOWZA 13 pounds, congratulations!! Thats so great!

Estrogen is stored in fat, and you're burning fat like crazy. This is releasing the estrogen from your body and can give you heavier or longer cycles. For me, I have dark spotting 1-2 days before and for an extra day or so after my "main" days

Also dark / brown is old tissue/blood - I used to have dark "thicker" cycles while on BCP (estrogen/progesterone).... This is just your estrogen being weird!!

I knew the estrogen might go crazy...i guess I haven't had a period in so long I didn't even think about it.

I can't wait to be 100% again. I do great the first half of the day and then I'm pretty sore in the evening. I'm ready to get into the gym!!!

Also make sure you're drinking plenty for the BM situation. It really helps.

I have the arm implant and hadn't had a period in MONTHS. About a week after surgery I started with a vengeance! My dr said this is fairly normal. Your body is reacting to the stress of surgery and the weight loss.
