My banding is tomorrow 9:15 am, the doc has had me on Clear liquids for two days, and everything is looking like food. Does it get better? I have tomorrow after surgery and wed, thurs to be on clear liquids still. I am so hungry, I never knew what hunger pains were until now. Any suggestions....

It does get better. My Dr. had me on full liquids so I was able to drink BOOST & Slimfast which have more Protein than Clear liquids. You can buy Protein powder to add to broths at GNC, I think. I was on liquid diet post op for 21 days then began advancing to soft mushy foods. You can get pretty creative by that time.

Congrats on your surgery. IT gets better every day for me. HANG IN THERE!:nervous

You can tough it out for two days - but if you are dying - get an Atkins shake. While still liquid, they are pretty filling.

Just remember - keep your eyes on the prize - and stay strong.

You need an empty digestive tract when you hit the table - it makes it easier for you after the fact - since BM's would be painful immediately after surgery and for a couple of days after.

Trust me - any movement that involves your abdomen will be unpleasant for the first 2-3 days after.

Hang Tough.
