Anxiety and getting sleeved

I'm pre-op and worried about how the emotional changes will affect my anxiety. I'm diagnosed as having "severe" anxiety and just worried that every little,(or big for that matter),weird feeling or symptom I may feel might throw me into a panic attack. I'm nervous by nature and so I'm a little scared about the "whirlwind of emotions" I read about on here. Are any of you diagnosed w/anxiety that have already been sleeved willing to share some insight on what I may possibly expect? I take medication for my anxiety but I know how I worry and going through such drastic changes will most likely result in a panic attack due to me thinking something's wrong w/my sleeve or any other number of things if I'm clueless as to what's "normal" to feel and expect. Any info you're willing to share to help put my mind @ ease will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you so much for asking! My anxiety has certainly reared it's ugly face a few times but for the most part, I've been doing really well. I have only a couple more months of my supervised diet unti

Oh no! Why the sudden surgery?

They did a full Endoscopy yesterday in the main OR and my stomach is totally twisted and kinked, in order to fix is revision is required. This is VERY UNCOMMON and happens in less then .02 % of sleeve patients. :/ I just happened to be in that lucky percent, ugh

OMG..... that scares me so much. Im so sorry to hear that your stomach twisted. I havent been sleeved yet but its things like that that worry me so much because I used t have the lap band and i was told that the chance the band would slip is very low, like 1-3% well guess what? mine slipped, i had another surgery to fix it and it slipped again. I was told they cannot say why it slipped, sometimes they just dont know BUT that it can be because I lost weight fairly fast and sometimes things shift inside and things can happen. So Im super worried that now my stomach will twist!!! ugh...... im scared

Well let's just keep our fingers crossed and positive thoughts running through our heads that they won't run into any issues!

Positive thoughts :-)

Don't be, the chances are EXTREAMLY rare. Also realize I lost over a hundred pounds in less then five months which is really quick weight loss, and that weight loss effected my stomach twisting. The chances of this happening are so rare it's not even funny, especially in a women since women lose slower then men. So don't stress it

Before and after pic. Weight loss over well over 100 since day of surgery.
