March 5

I am so happy to have found this app! This can be a scary process. I have a great support system but it's good to "hear" from people in my situation. The pre-op part that worries me the most is the liquid diet 10 days beforehand. But I can't wait to begin this new journey!

Well tomorrow is the day I get started on my liquid diet. I am so worried that I'm going to be starving and ill. I don't want to be grazing on sugar free jello and Popsicles all the time. I've got to find something to keep my mind off of the hunger. I've heard that the first 48 hours is the worse. Any suggestions on how to get through it?

Well I'm on day 5 now and I can verify that the first 3 days are the worst. Make sure you drink plenty to stave off dehydration and take Tylenol at the first sign of a headache. I am eating my body weight in jello and sugar free Popsicles I swear. I also have some of those flavor infused broths by Swanson and that has helped. I cut them with regular chicken broth and it breaks up the monotony of plan broth. A lot of it is in your head too; you just have to keep telling yourself it is totally worth it and believe you can do it. Days 3 and 4 were both soooo much better.

I've been noticing that a lot of people are going to Mexico to have the surgery. Why is that?

How are you doing with your diet?

Well for me it is the only way I can afford it.. It costs too much here and my insurance won't cover it.. I have been on the liquid diet for 2 weeks now and have slipped up a few times. During the day I'm fine but as soon as I get home I'm hungry.. I'm sitting here watching the food network no wonder I'm hungry lol

I'm watching the food network too! That's all I watch. Lol. Thanks for explaining the reason. I have seen where many people are going and I never asked why. I'm blessed that my insurance will cover it. I'm glad there's a place to go to get it done if insurance doesn't though. I'm on day 6 of my 10 day....I've slipped and had meltdowns but learned that I just have to get back on track.

Great to hear from the march winners (at losing ) I'm having a little difficult keeping in touch with some of the March gang ! Hope all are doing well. Starting wt 349 hospital 336 CW 266 hit a stall the last 2 weeks getting a little frustrated hope the scales start moving again soon let's hear from some more Marchers

I have stalls all the time, but glad I'm still losing.. I noticed this last month that my hair is coming out.. :( hope it stops soon..
