Will back pain go away?

I suffer from chronic lower back pain. I haven't gone to the doctor to get any major tests done because I think when I lose weight it will go away. Basically I just think the pain is caused by my 250lb body. I am awaiting Ins approval any time, so I hope to be banded this summer. Did anyone else have this problem, and did it go away after being banded and losing?
