Help Please, question...

I am having a bit of a rough time and need some input. I had an adjustment to my band in December. Doctor added a .25cc. Everything seemed fine for a few weeks. However, over the past week or so my band seems soooo tight. I am having trouble eating all foods and I have horrible heartburn. So much that I can't sleep. I have been taking antacids, but that doesn't help much. Tomorrow I am going back in for a small unfill. My question is....why did my adjustment start out fine and then eventually get so much tighter? Has anyone else had trouble with this? Is this normal/abnormal? Could it be an indication of a bigger problem?

Thanks so much for your input!!

Jen

It can take awhile for a fill to settle. Hopefully, a small unfill will do the trick! Make sure to address all your concerns with your doctor! Take care!

PS...I just noticed we have the same surgeon :)

I had the fill on Dec. 5th, so its been awhile. Of course, I worry about a bigger problem like a band slip. I have had many fills and never had heartburn like this. Hopefully get some answers tomorrow. But I will worry all day today. That is awesome we have the same surgeon!!

I also had an adjustment in December and I didn't feel any difference until last week. Mine always take at least 2 weeks to a month before i can tell. I received .1 and as of Friday I feel like I'm back in the green zone. Good luck! If you feel like you're too tight definitely let your doctor know.

Please keep us updated on what he has to say tomorrow.

For some people, it can take up to a month to feel the effects of a fill. It has always taken a minimum of 2 weeks for me.

Inability to tolerate food and heartburn is a definite sign that you are too tight. Your doc/surgeon will likely suggest a small unfill.
