I was looking at some profiles at ObesityHelp.com, and noticed several people put disclaimers on their profiles saying that their surgery was done by Dr. XXX, and that no other doctor has permission to use their pics or stories. I got the impression that some doc (or more than one) was "borrowing" pics and profile info to advertise his practice.

Some of the same people you are seeing is the actual ads for the LapBand product.... I've noticed the more polished looking pics are used by many practices and commericals.
