7ccs and still hungry!

Recommended Posts

Anyone still hungry after fills? I feel like the fills aren't really working. I'm definitely eating less then before the band but I can still eat way to much.

The fact you're still able to eat more doesn't mean the band isn't working. The band isn't supposed to physically stop you from eating anything. There is a saying around here "just because you can eat it doesn't mean you should".

It is your job to stick to band sized portions. The band is there to control your hunger and tell you when you've had enough- not force you to do anything including stop eating

Here's a link that might help: http://drsimpson.net/fills/Lap-band-eating/lap-band-not-restriction/lap-band-and-restriction.html

Everyone is different Laurie, I have 6.5cc in a 10cc band, and mostly feel green, but at times I'm hungry so now I need a little more fill...

Don't worry it just takes some people a little more.

Good luck.

Plus what size is your band?

If the band is supposed to control my hunger then, it's not. Was I not clear in my note? My doctor asks me can you eat a hamburger with bread ( not DID you, COULD you) so that's my benchmark. I can still eat a hamburger if I wanted to which is why I feel something may be wrong. I'm at 7cc and have a 10 cc band.

I have 7cc in my 10cc band I'm not quit at the green zone but I'm almost there . My dr says sometimes it takes the full 10 to get to green and then one day u wake up and it'll be too tight. I'm in need of a fill again now just a small one. My dr always wants me to be clear with him and he lets me decided if I need/ want a full fill or half fill. You know ur body . I can't eat a hamburger I'm lucky if I can get a hamburger patty. Try eating small tiny bites , use a toddler spoon or fork. Wait a few seconds before taking another bit. It get annoying but I found thst when I take my time I'm not really as hungry and I end up not eating much at all. Good luck

Yes, and if you can't go longer periods of time without hunger, then you might still need more Fluid in your band.

But I was addressing where you said "but I can still eat way to much". It's a big mistake and misconception that the band is going to physically stop you from over eating. It will tell you "oh hey, I've had enough to eat" but if you choose to ignore it and keep eating, you can.

Too many people end up with their bands too tight, and complications because of it, from expecting the band to do things it's not supposed to do.

No, the band is not supposed to control your hunger. Once your band is adjusted properly the band can help your satiety level if you eat band friendly foods.

Sounds like your band is not adjusted properly yet and that can take up to a year and many fills. The amount of Fluid in the band is different for each of us and 7 may not be your lucky number but maybe 7.5 is?

When you say you're still hungry, what do you eat to satisfy that hunger? Eating solid Proteins first will help the band work it's magic better. And my band is adjusted properly and I can still eat a hamburger with a bun if I wanted to but, I would be too full.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
