After weightloss surgery

Does anyone know what exactly qualifies a person for covered tummy tuck surgery after significant weightloss?

for medicare it has to be a medical neccessity. that being the extra skin has repeated infections in the folds etc. private insurance varies. here in vegas i.ve been told mgm covers skin removal for barriatric patients if they hit their goal weight and maintain it for a year, however the copay for barriatric surgery is kind of high up front.

Depends on your insurance company. Some want medical conditions like open wounds that won't resolve etc.

I just had cosmetic surgery and was self paid despite having good insurance

Usually it requires a health related problem caused by the flap.
