How is it possible to arrange lap band surgery in Mexico without the US coordinators? I used a coordinator and she was of no benifit to me at all. Now that my daughter wants to go I would rather just work directly with the Dr. Does anyone have any information that would be helpful?

I worked directly with my surgeons staff in Mexico, no one here in the US as a coordinator. Now his staff did work with American Dr.s helping to arrange my aftercare---but that was it, no other go between. I used Dr. Aceves in Mexicali. I was totally pleased with him, his staff, the hospital---it was a smooth trip and surgery.

i used dr. ortiz in mexico. i communicated with carolynn directly but she was always very prompt in answering my emails/questions. the whole process of setting everything up was very easy. plus dr. ortiz rocked.

I went to Dr. Rumbaut for my surgery, and also dealt only with his staff. If you google his name you'll come to his site on the surgery, and the contact goes directly to his staff, not a coordination office...
