My doc never gave me a range. He has only said eat clean and lean. Always remember protein is 4 calories per gram. So depending on how much protein you are supposed to get will depend on your calories. I shoot for 100 grams of protein - so I start my day out at 400 calories.

My doctor wants me to get up to 1200 calories a day when I can. That is the amount they want me to stay at for maximum weight loss. I'm only just over 3 weeks post op and I can not get that much in yet so I'm probably hitting about 800 calories now. It has taken real effort to get to 800 but I had stalled from being too low on calories. You cant lose weight if you eat too little so 800 calories it is for me for now. I'll up it as I can!
