Hey there;

I am going for a Beltline Lipectomy consult. I think some of the questions you should ask are....What should I expect? How long is my recovery? Bloodloss? What is your weight going to change by? Have they dealt with high weight loss patients before (some PS's don't have a clue about dealing with the obese) Just a few hints....that I thought of!

I think a question far more important than "How much weight will I lose, doc?" is "How long have you been in practice? Can I see before and afters of people like me? How long will I have to wear a compression garment? How long will I have my drains in? How long will you keep me in hospital? How long till I can resume exercise? Will you need me to have an unfill? How long till I feel like my old self again? What can I realistically expect from my surgeries?"

Just off the top of my head.

Good luck with your consult Kristen!

I just had my TT and lift a few weeks back. Since every doctor is different, make sure to ask if he is familar with the LapBand and port so you don't have issues when they get in. Make sure you understand the aftercare. make sure you have done your homework on the doc because there are question you have that he can't answer. Google his name and see if anyone has written about him online or in any forums. Talk to other patients if you can. That's what I did and it helped me make an informed choice.
