travel post opp/recovery

Hi I am wondering how long did it take everyone to recover before they could go swimming. My surgery will be mid july and at the end of August I will be going to the Bahamas. Im hoping I won't have to for go either of these awesome opportunities. Help!!!

I had to wait til my incisions were healed...one of mine was left open to drain and it took about six weeks...I just went swimming and I had surgery on 4/29

Thanks I'm so excited 6 weeks will put me right there thanks for responding.

I had surgery on 4/29 and I seen my doctor 3 weeks post op and he cleared me for swimming. So was only 21 days for me.
