. You go girl! That is awesome! My surgery was 5/28 and I just hit 90#!!!

Feeling great. Surgery May 24. Down 80 pounds from surgery day weight of 336. I'm amazed at those of you who can jog so far! I lost a lot of muscle strength after surgery, and almost passed out walking 1/2 mile back in July. I can hike 2.5 miles with hills now, and jog 1/2 mile without stopping. It feels great to be able to do that! I'm catching for my daughter's pitching lessons now, and don't even think twice about going up flights of stairs- don't get winded and knees don't hurt now. I joined an exercise/fitness challenge group and in a month have gone from only being able to do cardio kickboxing for 20 minutes, to being able to make it through a 45 minute workout now.

A "friend" told me the other day that my physical body had changed because of surgery, but he didn't think I will be able to beat the mental stuff, and was scared for what would happen to me because of my mind. That has messed with me quite a bit for the last few days, and I've been fighting a seed of doubt that I will be a success. Now, I'm so afraid I will fail and be told "told you so."

Always work hard to never let him say "told you so". Let those words drive you when you slip off course. Not to doubt your friends since I don't know you, but I would be skeptical of a friend that said that to me.

Thanks. That's why I put friend in quotations. He's not the friend I used to think he was. Has turned very negative towards me. Everyone else in my life has been great.

Awesome !!! :) I'm doing about 3.3 miles without stopping. Your doing great .. :)) way to go !!

Wow! Thats so good! You are actually motivating me to start exercising... Ive been so lazy! I just dont have energy..

Don't let that get u down in. but my daughter is 6yr out n that's Wat keeps her skinny, because she said she thinks back to Wat ppl said about her not keeping it off. Now me I just worry afraid I won't lose it.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. Everyone here should be so proud of themselves! Took an update photo today. 4.5 months and 80 pounds down. Photo on left taken 3-4 weeks after surgery. Right taken today.

U are looking great girl!!! Keep up the good work. :)

I had my surgery May 28. Down 85#. Only 15# from my doctors goal. It has been amazing. People keep telling me that I am so thin, I don't quite see all of that yet. But this morning I went swimming and was sitting on the step of the pool just moving my legs around and the excess skin was amazing. I didn't think I had too much. But watching it move in the water made realize more than I thought. Don't think I will be able to not get away without a thigh job, but it is pretty amazing to see how small my legs really are and what they might look like without the excess skin!

  • 2 weeks later...

Just wanted to check in and say hello and i hope everyone is doing well. I cannot believe that we are almost 6 months out!

I had surgery May 20 and I'm down 84 lbs :D Best decision I've ever made! But now I'm starting to slip into old habits again! I've been eating out and eating crap foods! I need to break this cycle again! I went through so much and I don't want to gain weight back....why do I go for the crap foods??? Anyone know how to stop the cravings or try and limit them???

I totally understand. I'm not sure if this is the time when we began feeling or thinking we are hungry. My biggest thing is eating a little too much or late night snacking. Like for example I just came home from work and ate some food now I'm gonna have to stay up for at least 3 hours and make sure I go to the gym tomorrow just to make myself feel better.
