ok so i have an infection at my iv site im on 2nd day on antibiotics and my arm is even more swollen is this normal i mean i knowi have to give the meds a chance but it is worrying me, i also have a minor infection at port site but its not so bad i am on zpack 250 mg how long should my arm be swollen before the meds kick in:help:

if you're not better tomorrow--go back and see dr. how many pills have you taken? is this a 5 day pack of 1 pill a day?

definitely see dr. right away if no improvement by tomorrow.

If your arm is getting worse, not better, upon starting the antibiotics, I would let the dr take a look at it. Some infections have become resistant to certain antibiotics, so if your arm gets any worse at all, don't just call, go in to see the Dr and have him actually see it.

You should see somewhat of a change within the first 24-48 hrs. If not, go back to the doctor.
