How long to chew?

My name is Will, and I had surgery August 28 for the vertical sleeve. I'm currently eating soft foods, but I am struggling with how long to chew and when to swallow. At times even eating scrambled eggs can seem to hurt going down. Any suggestions?

    Chew 20 to 30 times for each bite until it is the consistency of applesauce or finer. Even scrambled eggs. Don't worry about "how long", the 20-30 chews will cover that. Whatever you're eating should take NO LESS THAN 20 minutes.

    Ew...hate eggs, cannot even imagine them feeling mushy like that in my mouth :(
