Over the Border...Passport or ID?

Hello all,

I was recently told that if I am having surgery in Mexico, but only flying to San Diego before being driven into Mexico, I don't need a passport. Only needing a US ID and that would be ok.

It's not that I don't trust the information, but I just need to know for sure because that could mean my possibly getting the lap band surgery sooner than I would like.

Thanks,

Judy

If you are walking/driving across the border, you only need your DL. A birth certificate would be good to bring, also. If you are flying into Mexico, you do need a passport.
