Following Blog Posts

I'm curious why it is that responding to posts results in automatic following of said posts, but responding to blog posts does not. Many times I have responded to people's blog posts and not even realized they then posted a response to my response. Yes, I am aware it's just a matter of clicking the "Follow" button in the corner, but I'm wondering why following isn't the default as it is with regular thread posts.

Will this be changed with the merger?

This is a great suggestion! We're definitely going to implement it once we launch the new community.
