I have successfully completed my pre-op diet. I have been dieting seriously since May and did not expect to lose much weight over the last two weeks. I'm happy to say that I lost 9 pound following my pre-op diet. The Bariatric Center I attend has the following pre-op diet...
800-1000 calories per day
60 - 100 grams of Protein minimum
80 - 100 grams of carbohydrate (yes, we certainly can lose weight eating carbs!)
48 - 64 ounces of calorie free, caffeine free fluids per day.
This diet was easy for me to follow as I had already reduced my calories. I was amazed that I was never hungry. I ate mostly solid foods and occasional protein shakes. A couple of nights when I came home from work I decided to just have a shake for dinner. I wasn't hungry plus I was too lazy to cook!
Tomorrow is my big day! I am having my lapband removed and if my stomach is not too damaged, I will be sleeved.
