Straws

I had the sleeve done seven weeks ago. I remember my nutritionist and/or dr. said not to drink out of a straw. Does anyone remember how long we can't drink out of a straw? Is it three months?

Every surgeon and nutritionist seems to say something different. I was told it was fine to use a straw but just don't be an idiot basically. So I used a straw to sip and it was all good, I was careful not to suck up air.

I used a straw from the day of discharge.

Wow, I do remember them saying no straw. I was thinking three months. I get it, not to suck up air or chug it.

Of course, what my surgeon told me was advice for me, I would not recommend you follow advice that contradicts what your surgeon told you.

They had me use a straw in the hospital. Every surgeon has a different protocol!

I felt like I swallowed more air without the straw, so went to the straw almost immediatly and felt better...ask the doc and see what he says...

I use a straw and have no problems as long as i take baby sips.
